An apology.....

I have unwittingly offended and upset people with the post that I put up today.

It was not intended to offend. It was intended to laugh at me.

I'm sorry that I clearly got it so wrong and for any hurt that I may have caused.

Please accept my apologies.

I need to read that post now but I don't think you need to apologize for expressing what you feel in your own blog though Sally!:))
Personally, I like your sense of humor!

I actually did read it, so I can imagine what probably happened. Families can be such a touchy subject; even though I know you were writing in a kind and honest spirit, sometimes things can be taken another way. Sigh. It happens to us all from time to time. I hope your day has not been all crap, Sally. Best thoughts. And hugs to the relatives too.

What? I didn't get to read it - oh well.

That's a bummer, Sally - sorry that some people are so easily offended....OH! I just checked my bloglines and there it is - off to read.

Oh -

I understand. Things of this nature are touchy subjects sometimes!!!

I read a post on your disapointment and frustration (on Bloglines) and cannot imagine how that offended anyone.... (still, maybe it wasn't that post.)

Anyway, in a way Asha is right - these are our blogs and we can say what we want, in theory....but then, if our family and friends are reading, we have to mind our P's and Q's, just as we do in daily life...sometimes it's impossible though, to judge what will upset and annoy..nowadays I try to avoid writing too much about my personal life, just to be on the safe side

I hope all ruffled feathers have been smoothed over.

I loved the post you wrote Sally and as ever you made me laugh but knowing how my family sometimes unintentionally upset each other in our blog posts or comments I can understand.

I missed it and as I'm so nosy I just need to know what you wrote about. However I am often upsetting one or other of my girls by things I either say or don't say so I hope all is resolved!
I shall have to get the details from Beccy!

Oh Sally....please don't beat yourself up about it anymore....after reading the post I must say I cannot understand how it was perceived as offensive but as others have said, people (particularly family members), can be rather too easy to upset. If they know you well enough, which surely they should, they know that you are not the sort of person who would intentionally upset anyone. Far from it. You are indeed one of the most caring people I have ever met!
Chin up Sally, we all love you.. and please continue to write your posts in your unique and very popular style:) X

Drat, I missed it! Knowing you though, Sally, I wouldn't take offense. Sometimes people can't add irony or voice tones when reading, so become defensive first. I can only imagine that's what happened.

What? What did I miss? You can say what you want on your own blog can't you?

Its not fair to say that its 'nice' to know that others fall foul from time to time.......
How about 'oh well, thank goodness it's not just me!'?

Now I'm offended because you didn't leave the original post up for me to read and be offended. I suppose now I've offended you?

Silly isn't it? You write what you feel Sally, I think we still have "free speech" in this country (just!) and if people are offended by what you write then they don't have to read your blog then.

It's like these silly people who watch a programme on TV and then write and complain that they are offended by it. Don't they realise that they have an "off" switch, or don't they know how to use it?
